Extend License
An existing license can be extended to include additional plug-ins and add-ons or—for subscription licenses—to a higher license tier. The extension is assigned to the same license (same OPC Router ID); the corresponding license key is automatically added to your account in the license portal and does not need to be entered separately.
How the extension is applied to the system depends on the activation method—the procedure is the same as for the extension .
Online
With synchronization: The extension is automatically applied in the background. No manual action is required. You can check the activated modules in the license overview at .
Without synchronization: The upgrade is not applied automatically. In the Licensing , click the “Synchronize Licenses” button (below “Online Licensing”); the additional modules will then be applied.
Offline
For systems without Internet access, the extended license must be activated manually. Once the extension has been added to the portal, the license in the OPC Router License Portal will be marked with an exclamation point indicating that “manual activation is required.”
Perform the offline licensing process again—on the page Activate License, under the “Offline Licensing” tab: Generate a request file in OPC Router, click the key icon in the “Activate” column in the license portal, upload the request file, download the generated activation file, and import it into OPC Router via “Import License File.”
Once imported, the additional modules are immediately available; restarting the OPC Router service is not required.
