Do not use more than five transfer steps in a connection
Troubleshooting and further development are easier if the transfers remain clear. In the event of necessary repetitions (e.g., faulty transfers), you also avoid performance losses. "Transfer step" does not refer to the number of arrows: a single step can include many individual transfers. "Transfer step" refers to the chronological sequence of transfers that you see when you hover over the arrow with the mouse.
Connection templates save work
If you already know during project planning that you will need many (more than 10) similar connections that differ only in terms of an ID and a few data point addresses, for example, you should familiarize yourself with the concept of connection templates. You create the connection template with variables in the "Templates" snap-in and can use the "Create instance" button to create similar connections from it.
