Activate license in OPC Router

In demo mode, you can extensively test all standard modules. After licensing, the licensed modules are productive, while the others remain in demo mode.

If you need a demo license that is valid for a longer period, our sales department can issue one for you. For example, for a 30-day demo license. Please contact our sales department for more information.

Licensing is done via the OPC Router license portal. Licenses can be imported online or offline.

To license OPC Router, proceed as follows.

1. Navigate to the menu by clicking .
2. Select the "License" menu item.

3. Click on the "Online Licensing" button.
4. A pop-up window will appear with a link and a code. Click on the link to continue the process in a new tab.
5. Now compare the code from OPC Router with the code displayed in the newly opened tab. If the codes match, click "Confirm." If the codes do not match, click "Cancel" and try again.
6. Click "Continue to License Portal."
7. Log in to the OPC Router license portal. If you do not yet have a user account, you can create a new user account or log in with your existing Microsoft or LinkedIn account.
8. After successfully logging in, a message will appear telling you that you are done. You can now close the tab and continue the process in OPC Router.
9. Please enter your data in the "Enter system data" window and confirm with "Continue." If the system has already been licensed, this window will not be displayed.
10. Another window will now open where you can select a license. You can also enter a license key here if you have one to add a new license.
11. Confirm your selection with "Next."

3. Click on the "Offline Licensing" button.
4. Please enter your data in the "Enter system data" window and confirm with "Next." If the system has already been licensed, this window will not be displayed.
5. A request file will now be created and downloaded automatically. This file is required on a device with internet access in order to activate the license. To be able to create the file from a device with internet access, you can save the file to an internal network drive or USB stick, for example.
6. Use a device with Internet access to access the OPC Router License Portal.
7. Log in to the OPC Router License Portal. If you do not yet have a user account, you can create a new user account or log in with your existing Microsoft or LinkedIn account.
8. After successfully logging in, you will see an overview of your licenses. If the desired license is not listed, you can add it using the "Add License Key" button.
9. Click on the key icon in the "Activate" column of the license you want to use.
10. Follow the instructions in the pop-up and upload the request file. You can start at step 2, as you have already created the request file.
11. Confirm the dialog with "Activate." If there is overprovisioning, a reason must be specified.
12. An activation file will now be created and downloaded automatically. Copy this file to the server on which OPC Router is installed.
13. In the "Licenses" menu item, click on the "Import license file" button.
14. Now select the activation file in the file manager and confirm to complete the activation.

Offline licensing

The licenses are applied immediately and do not require a restart of the OPC Router service. In addition, the term for each licensed plug-in and add-on is displayed in the overview at the bottom of the page. Future system enhancements will be licensed for your specific customer name and OPC Router ID. License keys will be credited to your account and do not need to be entered separately.
