OPC Classic is not supported in Docker.

This page describes the OPC Classic client connection of the OPC client in the OPC Router. It is part of the OPC Classic specification, specifically to OPC DA (Data Access), and is used to read or write current values from classic OPC servers.

Classification​

  • Specification: OPC Classic
  • Standard used: OPC DA (Data Access)
  • Typical Use: Connecting existing classic OPC servers in Windows environments

If the OPC server is running on another computer on the network, a correct DCOM configuration is required for OPC Classic.

Setup Procedure​

To connect to an OPC DA server, follow these general steps:

  1. Open the corresponding plug-in by clicking “Shopfloor” -> “OPC-Classic” in the “Plug-ins” menu.
  2. Click the plus button in the table header or double-click an existing entry.
  3. Configure the necessary settings (see the section “ Properties of OPC Classic Connections ”).
  4. Confirm by clicking “OK”.”

The connection to the classic OPC DA server is then available for flow configuration in OPC Router.
