OPC UA

The OPC Client Plug-in connects the OPC Router to any number of accessible OPC servers. The OPC UA client connection of the OPC Client Plug-in in the OPC Router enables access to OPC UA servers in accordance with the OPC UA standard. The OPC Router acts as a client, establishing connections to servers and enabling the browsing and use of data points while adhering to security mechanisms such as encryption and authentication.

To connect to an OPC UA server, follow these steps:

  1. Open the corresponding plug-in by clicking “Shopfloor” -> “OPC UA Client” in the “Plug-ins” menu.
  2. Click the plus button in the table header or double-click an existing entry.
  3. Configure the necessary settings (see the section “ Properties of OPC UA Connections ”).
  4. Use the “Check connection” button to initiate an initial connection. The test is only successful if the same security level is set on both sides and all other prerequisites (such as the trust settings for the client/server certificates to be exchanged) are met.
  5. Confirm by clicking “OK”.

The connection to the OPC UA server is now available for flow configuration.
