Creating and Restoring Snapshots

To use versioning in OPC Router, navigate to the settings and click the "Versioning" option.

The OPC Router will now display the various snapshots.
As soon as the project is published, a new snapshot is automatically created.

In the upper-left corner, you can create a new snapshot by clicking the “” button .

note

The button is only active if there are changes to the project.

Enter a name for the snapshot and a message as a comment so you can more easily identify the snapshot in the future.

The arrow icon shows you which version is currently loaded.
If no entry with an arrow icon is displayed, no snapshot has been loaded yet.

Restore a Previous Version

Use the "Revert" icon in the snapshot list to revert to any of the existing snapshots:

  1. Select the desired snapshot from the list and click the revert icon. The state is loaded as a configuration; the arrow icon then appears in its row.
  2. Initially, the restored state consists only of the loaded configuration. It appears in the Publish view as a pending change.
  3. Activate it there. Only then will the runtime use the restored state.

Secrets remain unaffected. The values of the secrets lie outside the version state—only the reference to the Key is versioned. A secret whose value has been changed since the snapshot therefore retains its current value; a secret that has been deleted since then is still gone even after restoration and must be recreated under the same Key.
