SAP IDoc Transfer Object

SAP IDocs (Intermediate Documents) are available to you both as sources and as targets. The required SAP system must be configured as a plug-in instance. Create an SAP IDoc transfer object within the connection as described. The transfer object can send IDocs, and the IDoc trigger receives IDocs.

The following properties can be configured:

SAP IDoc configuration

"Settings" tab

PropertyDescription
SAP connectionSelect the SAP access data.
IDoc typeSelect an IDoc type provided by your SAP system.
IDoc extensionClass extension of IDocs: CIMTYP Customer extension of the basic IDoc type.
Queue name
Creation
  • Apply plug-in configuration: Selects what was selected in the SAP plug-in by IDoc handling.
  • Create empty IDoc: When an IDoc is loaded from SAP, the IDoc is sent, but the existing elements are emptied and only your own changes are sent.
  • Use template from SAP system: The loaded IDoc from SAP is used, but processed with your own values.

"Parameters" tab

PropertyDescription
Parameter selectionSelect the required data segments, i.e., the elements that are to be read or written.

You can write multiple data records to an IDoc at the same time; the required data segments are then created multiple times. Conversely, an IDoc can also deliver multiple data records.

IDocs that cannot be sent are temporarily stored in an IDoc queue.
