Relational Databases
The relational database plug-ins in OPC Router use common transfer objects and triggers. The plug-in-specific pages describe the connection properties and database-specific features for each plug-in.
The database plug-ins establish a connection between the OPC Router and any number of accessible database servers. This requires that the client-side database components be installed and available to the OPC Router.
Create a connection
The default procedure is as follows:
- Open the plug-in by double-clicking on “Database-Server” under the menu area of the “Plug-ins”
- Select “Add New Connection” or double-click on an existing entry.
- Configure the necessary settings.
- Click “Check connection” to verify that the OPC Router can connect to the selected database server and that the login credentials were entered correctly. This step helps rule out a potential cause of failed transfers.
- Confirm by clicking “OK”
The database server is now available for configuring a flow. You can also delete a connection or edit a connection’s settings here. To do so, click the corresponding icon in the menu bar at the top.
In the tree on the left, select the desired database plug-in and configure it according to your needs.
Properties that are not relevant to the respective connection type are disabled. For details on database-side configuration, please refer to the documentation for your database system. Contact your database administrator to find out the settings for the individual connection options. Please also note the recommendations for accessing distributed databases, some of which also apply to local connections.
